Also - Chris Denend, Prosper's new-ish CTO,
- J.P. Whelan, former VP Finance at Prosper,
- and Jim Breyer, Director at Accel Partners (venture capital firm).
Having said that, I find myself hesitant to subscribe to any conspiracy theory. ETA: - Bob Kagle, Director at Benchmark Capital (venture capital firm)

Seems to me like Stanford needs to beef up their ethics curriculum.

A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence agst. foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people. -James Madison Speech, Constitutional Convention (6/29/1787)

So far "the outcry" has not been heard east of the mississippi. Did you guys on the Plains hear it or did it not make it over the Rockies?

No reports of the outcry crossing on the outbound lanes of neither the Golden Gate nor the Bay Bridge.

Ah, that's why it didn't make it north on US-101 to Oregon!

If, as you have indicated, you don’t trust Prosper to detect fraud when it exists or to remunerate you when we find it, then you should reconsider whether you want to lend on Prosper. I did; withdrawing since Black Friday, March 30, 2007--with one exception.

Ah, that's why it didn't make it north on US-101 to Oregon! I once knew someone that said the people in his head talked to him - reckon that could be what happened here? Come to think of it I have not seen in in 20 years now - even thinking about him now does not make me miss him.

but but... isn't that just a stones throw! I think trading loans on the marketplace is the only real desire any of us lenders (that are willing to still tinker around on Prosper) have left. am I right?

You will not be able to trade any of your existing loans...only the new "notes" you buy AFTER (OR if) Prosper re-emerges.
Did you have a chance to read the amended S1 filing yet?
