It has happened once before that Prosper simply, without comment or acknowledgment, removed their user community forums. Now it has happened again, but at least this time they did acknowledge that they have done this. Quite possibly due to their becoming aware, through speculation here on .org, that those forums and their comments might be inappropriate during the Quiet Period.
Here is the
official explanation.
It is, of course, sad coincidence that lately the comments in the forums that have been removed due to these actions have been more and more disillusioned as newer community members have come to realize the grim realities of sinking money into non-performing loans.
We should remain mindful of this and see, when (if?) Prosper emerges from the Quiet Period, these forums are restored intact.
Apparently, although I have not verified this, commenting on their official blog has also been suspended for the same reason.
I don't know if, like last time, it will emerge that some enterprising soul has archived discussions on the Prosper forums, and if so, that kind soul would make those discussions available to the powers behind
ProsperReport.com, who, last time this happened, provided an archive and reference source for old Prosper community information.
Note to Bamalucky: I know you wanted your post moved to the lobby, but your post was rather insubstantial, so I decided to write something that was at least more than one vague sentence only intelligible to "insiders."
