The new Prosper was even worse than the old Prosper.  Reselling car loans.  Feh.  Good riddance.

Sadly, I suspect that Prosper will eventually get it's securities registered, and then it's back to business for them, selling junk to suckers.

I wouldn't bet on it with the way that Chris Larsen spat in the SEC's face when they re-opened.

I get the feeling this silly little re-opening pissed somone off & they may never re-open again now.

I'll wager this pissed the VC off too.

Have to wonder if the SEC gave them a choice - either close down yourselves, or we'll close you down.

Or it could have been the California State Attorney General's Office (or some department in California responsible for overseeing investments) having requested that no more unregistered securities be sold, not accepting the California Department of Corporations' approval as sufficient to count as "registered" for purposes of California investors.

Until someone talks, we might never know.

Propser hired Podesta (lobbyists) recently.  If this was done to help iron all this out, then the road back to doing business is probably a long way off.

"Once again, we note that your threats are hollow and you come across like a sad, lonely blowhard.

I doubt anyone here gives a shit about you.  We pretty much all know that you are a vile and unethical parasite of a human being with an abnormal craving for attention."

Sure we knew them - they originated the idea of syndicating junk cars to numerous "investors" by selling them portions of the 118% future bad debt held against them.

prosper's road to success

"fly under the SEC's radar" - check
"brush off 6 figure lenders" - check
"kick investors off prosper that mention org in profile" - check
"poof forums" - check
"stick middle finger up at SEC" - check
