You guys seem to be forgetting the CTO was an incompetent fool.

Whenever there was any problem with technology, it remained a problem.

In any normal organization, the CTO would have been on top of any small problem or bottleneck BEFORE it occurred.

Witchel (or whatever) had to be the poorest excuse for an IT guy I've run into.  We could have hired a high school hacker and gotten better results in that department.  And that's still true with their database maintenance today.

Quote
We have incurred operating losses since our inception and we anticipate that we will continue to incur net losses for a number of years as we grow our business.  For the three months ended March 31, 2009 and 2008, we had negative cash flows from operations of $2.4 million and $2.7 million, respectively.  Additionally, since our inception through March 31, 2009, we have an accumulated deficit of $33.1 million.

Interestingly enough, after the first SEC filing, this was what I came up with I estimated when their cash would run out...end of 2009. Usually though companies file before they totally run out of cash so it could come third quarter. I just hope I can get out as much money as possible before then. Once they file, all bets are off on what we'll get, if anything. The class action suit could force them under immediately.

And what a tragedy that would be.

Prosper missed me.  They lifted my suspension a day early.

It's a tragedy for the potential lender community that the SEC didn't take another 6-9 months to approve Prosper's registration.  That way, Prosper could have just gone BK without causing a lot of new lenders to lose their money too.

Well so much for regular people helping regular people...

Now it's supposed to be fat cats who do the lending.

And this is peer-to-peer how??

Read "Robin Hood".

This is impressive. It's an excellent wealth-redistribution system.
