I just tried logging in.....
The site will be down 7/12 & 7/13

Think this is the beginning of a new phase?
Site is now back up. And it looks like they are ready to welcome back lenders.

Not available in Oregon
Unfortunately, at this time lenders in Oregon are not able to bid or transfer money to Prosper. If you have portfolio plans, they have been paused. You may transfer money out of your Prosper account as they become available from loan payments.

"Prosper is currently available only to lenders who reside in the following states: California, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming."

I started up my test listing again:

Quote
Based on your credit score and listing details, your listing's Prosper Rating is AA. Because of this, we recommend that you start your auction bidding at 8.52% or higher.

Quote
Why should I start the auction at 8.52%?

A higher starting rate may attract more lenders' bids.

For example:
Starting rate: 8.52%
Ending rate could be: 5.42%

I had over $25 to transfer so not sure if they are keeping the "eligible" states from transferring less than $25.

Who else finds the Marketplace Performance page questionable?

I just sent support the following message:

Quote
On May 4th, 2009, my account was suspended.  The e-mail stated that my account would be suspended for 30 days but today (July 13th, 2009) my account is still marked as being suspended.

I am requesting that my suspension be lifted as per the terms of the original suspension.

Aye, Sir!

According to this loan performance data, 90% of all outstanding monies lent through Prosper are accounted for and safe.  What could go wrong?

Chris Larsen's father featured on the site referring to the registration of securities with the SEC as "nonsense" and "BS."

Wow!  Talk about purposely manipulating the data!  The specifically left out Charged-Off loans from the statistics!
