She spread $1,000 among about 50 people. Each investment was at least $25.
Yeah, right. ???

The Washington Post, eh?

I would like to see a retraction in the retraction column:

I was going to comment on that as well. I gave them the benefit of doubt and guessed maybe she reinvested. Although, the timing might not work. $50 was the minimum until April IIRC. If she makes 40 loans at $25 each, she wouldn't have pulled in $250 in 4 months to make another 10 loans.

I emailed the following to her.

"Prosper's default rate is about 5 percent"
I wanted you to know a "Public" thread has been posted on Prospers.org concerning your fundamental lack of research with your article. You can read it here w/o joining Prospers.org:

http://www.prospers.org/forum/washington_post_claims_5_default_rate_on_prosper-t16249.0.html

I am also curious as why you blocked comments to correct your article? Feel free to respond on Prospers.org or directly to my listed email address. I'll also be posting a copy of this email to the Editor of your Newspaper.

Respectfully,

Michael
