I would say that continued censorship on the one public forum Prosper can control shows that it hasn't changed it's ways at all.  Further, hasn't Prosper "unfriended" several folks here?

@ggmillar - would it make sense to re-evaluate those unfriended before your time to see if they shouldn't be UN-unfriended?

Forgive my ignorance, but I am a bit confused.  Facebook fan pages can't have friends.  They can have fans.  Are you saying that we unfanned you?  I just looked all over Facebook and for the life of me I can't find a list of people we have unfanned.

And on the subject of getting Ira's Facebook page deleted: I wish we had that kind of pull with Facebook.  We can't even get our Facebook vanity URL changed.

This thread was started because Prosper "banned" several of us from its Facebook page. Even if we "Like" the page, we are no longer allowed to "Like" or "Comment" on any posts on the Wall of the page. I just tested this and it is still true. And we were banned for writing factual comments.

And Prosper does have that kind of "pull" with Facebook. Everyone does. All it takes is "Reporting" somebody's profile as using a fake name. Facebook even deleted a different Mark Zuckerberg's profile as a fake even though the guy really was a legitimate different Mark Zuckerberg.

Thanks for the reply.  Any idea how I find the list of people that are blocked?  I can't find it nor can I find instructions how to find it.

Does this page help any?

I'd love to know how many people are on that list.

In Shakespeare's Plays... only the Fools were allowed to tell the truth to the King and keep their heads. Prosper doesnt even allow that. Loooooosers...  :-*

This is good.  Thank you!  I'll look into it.  That capability didn't use to exist. BTW, I have personally banned 4 people and they have all been spammers, not denigrating comments about Prosper, but the typical spam that no one cares about - get rich quick, etc.

On the accusations --

I suppose the borrowing point of view is the opposite of the lending point of view. Prospoer 1.0 lent to people who were too poor to repay their loans at interest rates that didn't take the risks into account. From the point of view of lenders, this was a disaster.

But from the point of view of borrowers -- particularly those too poor to repay their loans -- it was a good deal.  You could get loans nobody else would give you, and at better interest rates. And with cheaper origination fees.

So from the point of view of a poor, high-risk borrower, the current version of Prosper offers a rawer deal than the original version did. Less chance of getting a loan than before, and at higher cost.

Doesn't it seem incredibly dicey when Prosper-employees are hanging out on Facebook touting investment returns far in excess of what Prosper is advertising and disclosing in their regulatory filings?

By the way, I think this guy needs to post a link to his portfolio so his claims can be verified.

Pretty sure he's a bidder on this loan.. https://www.prosper.com/invest/listing.aspx?listingID=556029

Now we've narrowed it down to 255 people  :ninja:

ETA: I'm not that bored but should be easy to click on everyone to see who registered in Feb-March 2011
