Why isn't this in the lobby yet?

Those darned lazy mods. They need to be replaced.
maybe they aren't financial innovators and can't figure it out

Classic comment from Urbi to a poster who said they were leaving:

"Once again, we note that your threats are hollow and you come across like a sad, lonely blowhard.

I doubt anyone here gives a shit about you.  We pretty much all know that you are a vile and unethical parasite of a human being with an abnormal craving for attention."

I figured I'd allow the thread some soak-time to see if additional layers of info was brought in.  The thread is interesting and probably lobby-worthy, but sometimes the quality of the data is enhanced by people having time to poke around and fill in additional points.

I thought the decision was a collaborative thing, no....?

But ok.  Fourthing for the lobby, then, on the possibility that there can be enough 2nds to override Urbi's hesitation.

Have we met?  I don't do laundry until family members are completely out of underwear.  ;D

I'm going to send to lobby - maybe more info will come out with more eyes on the topic.  Plus I want to show how powerful I am.  :) :)

ETA: Will move once I figure out what the heck I'm doing.

They got this email yesterday morning.   Still no response.   Been > 24 hours now.

If I don't receive a response tomorrow, I am going to send a much more stern communication to them.

Basically, if they do not update credit reports in a timely manner:
  • I will dispute the entries on my credit reports, because the balance and payment records are so out of date that they may pose a material impact with my other creditors
  • I will notify the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Trade Commission, the Attorney General of Pennsylvania and the Attorney General of California about your "problem"
  • I will notify Consumerist and other financial blog sites and publications of your deficiency

A snowstorm is coming my way tomorrow, so I will have plenty of time to launch a campaign to convince Prosper to act responsibly and justify why it takes 4 months to update information that the rest of the lending industry has no problem updating in 1.

I'm not going to use any back channels.   They should be able to answer this question and take action on it from the front door.   If they can't do that, then they can deal with my regulatory complaints.    Simple as that.

Last update they made to my TU report wsa 9/30/2009...

I'm new to .Org and want to tell you that my credit report hadn't been updated since September either. Since I have paid off my Prosper loan early, I wanted to know why I my credit bureau report wasn't updated as paid timely for the past several months and currently paid off. I wrote Prosper 2 days ago. They responded today:

"Dear Thomas,

You credit report should be updated within the next week.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,
Prosper Customer Support"

Note they didn't indicate WHY there had been no reports to the credit bureaus.
As a borrower, I can't help but think that I'm lucky I'm outta there. And I've paid off those who trusted me. Paid early, but paid off.

Still no response to my email.

I've already printed out a consumer complaint from for the AG of California and PA.   I'll drop them in the mail tomorrow.

Spitfire, thanks for adding your experience.  I plan on paying off my loan soon and would love to see it accurately reflecting...oh say, sometime in the next three months (;D).  This is frustrating for those of us who pay on time but, I'd imagine, even more so for lenders who have loans falling behind.  I mean, we know collection techniques don't work but one would hope that the credit report would reflect lack of payments and perhaps hurt borrowers that way.

You may be able to file them online quicker, but understand if you want to do the return receipt to ensure that they receive them.

In 2 months, it will have been a 1/2-year since Prosper last updated the 2 credit reporting bureaus they've been reporting to.

I guess if they keep it up---you might be able to make a baby faster than Prosper can update a computer file.
