Is the "$17K annual income for Prosper" a typo?

Total originations for the month of February 2010: $1,718,105

So does that means $17K in income for Prosper for the Month? (What % do they have to pay Web Bank)?
And $17K annual income for Prosper?

$1,718,105 * .01 = $17,181.05

Just to clarify: The title of the article sugests the growth rate is slowing when originations are actually shrinking.  So the growth rate is negative.

Yes, but what else did you expect from the "future bloggers of America" over at American Banking News?

Great math there. Except that Prosper's loan initiation fee is well above 1%.

$1000-$1600 = $50 Initiation Fee = Range 5%-3.125%
$1700-$25000 = 3% Initiation Fee

Therefore:

$1,718,105 * .03 = $51,543.15 (only $500,000 shy of breaking even!)

According to their loan calculator, your credit score is no longer a factor... That is according to the loan calculator on Prosper.com located http://www.prosper.com/loans/calculator.aspx . Your credit grade used to matter, it appears as though it no longer does...

Speaking of possible shill activity - does anyone know who/what "blot44" is?  "blot44" is either the seller or bidder on a lot of the AA notes listed on Folio.  This guy seems to be churning these AA notes, often buying them, then reselling at a small loss.  Is Prosper trying to pump up apparent liquidity on Folio, or this this just some random guy amusing himself with losing trades?

There's a bidding shill too - search this site for "Reflective-Rupee"

Oh yeah - I know RR.  I just haven't seen any chatter on here about Folio shilling.  I was wondering if anyone had the same suspicions.

Owns pieces of 2024 loans per Eric's.  Wow!  I'll bet she doesn't have a spreadsheet to track 'em all.  $42,701 loaned.  Avg loan age 675 days.  Eric's estimated ROI = -0.10%

Great ROI, eh?

How can you shill FOLIOfn. You don't bid. You buy at the asking price.
