As for the prosper angle, *wow*. But then again I remember that the loans most likely to default were the ones with people praising the Lord and whatnot. More devout=more likely to default.

I wonder if these dingbats were also in bad financial straights? That could explain going out with a proverbial bang, time will tell.

As I think about this situation more...
There is some evidence to suggest that this was a false flag.
Uh huh...

Assume for a moment, this was a false flag...that is to say that the govt either knew this was going to happen and did nothing to prevent it or aided the terrorists by providing logistical/financial/etc. support. Now also assume the banksters run the country.
Might as well assume they are lizard people why we are at this, because why not!

The handlers tell the terrorists to get a P2P loan from prosper and that they would make sure it funded. Then the muslims can use the money to buy weapons. Why P2P and not a credit card or just saving money? The articles say the husband had a $56K job and the wife worked too I believe. Is it really that hard to save enough for a couple guns without getting a loan? Cut back on the bacon or kiddieporn subscriptions for a year?
Or a more reasonable assumption is that they really didn't need the money outside of contingencies, and if there was a chance they were going to die or run away and go into hiding, then paying back your debts suddenly is not an issue. They cashed out because they were expecting to check out of society.

Now what a great incident to push all the govt and bankster agendas:
1) More gun control
2) Bad publicity for P2P lending..possible lawsuits from victims that would bankrupt P2P lenders that are increasingly taking a piece of the banksters lending pie.
3) More financial regulations since the patriot act hasn't gone far enough, lol. (See the Huffington Post article which says just that)
4) Restricting/Outlawing cash withdrawals/transactions since the terrorists withdrew $5000 cash from the account
So you are telling me that the bankster-goverment illuminate/lizard people conspired to have all these people shot and killed for these purposes?

It is a little suspicious that all of a sudden the press knows all this info about a prosper loan and how it is going viral. Did they not have credit cards? No one made a fuss about any other terrorists and their banking/credit cards/etc. Just this prosper incident. And how did the press find out that they had a prosper loan? Usually this info is kept under lock and key, especially in the investigative phase.
Suspicious that reporters keep on pressing for leads, and a person in the government can't help but leak his or her insider knowledge?

All because they want to take down the P2P lending juggernaut? That is stealing all of the bad loans that the banks won't make right from under the bankers noses?

Throw in some alien ghosts and you will have me sold on your theory.

Before my Prosper loan listing was approved, they mailed me a postcard that had a code on it, and I had to log in and enter it.  It was a way of verifying the address.

Come to learn now that Malik put a bogus address on her visa application.

So Prosper does more to verify borrower addresses of US citizens than the US does with potential terrorists coming from the Middle East!

Could we please keep this thread about Prosper, and move the conspiracy theories and religious discussions to the related thread in Off Topic?

I don't see this as being an issue at all.

A guy applies for a loan. Apparently has decent enough credit to get approved and funded. He's not listed on the OFAC list.

What do you want Prosper to do? Not make the loan?

bama seems the most obsessed with this and I just don't get it.

Not so much an issue, as it is a point of interest.

I guess a question is how Prosper follows up on this. Obviously a fraudulent loan. The news reports clearly spell out where some of the money went $10k to his mother.

My guess is Prosper will drop it and not follow up.

Prosper has previously classified such things as specifically NOT being fraudulent and thus refused to enact their 100% Fraud Free Guarantee repurchase program. Prosper's general stance on things like this are that so long as the person that got the loan used their own info, they can do anything they want with it and it isn't fraudulent. They can not repay, give to others, use for a purpose opposite of what is stated, tell lies in the application process, be not allowed to take loans by law, etc. and yet Prosper still does not consider it "fraudulent".

Right. And in this case I agree with them on that aspect. As to what they will do... .I'm guessing nothing. There probably isn't any type of estate to value, and unsecured creditors are last in line.  Save the time and effort and charge it off.
