I love those loans to reinvest
« on: March 15, 2008, 07:44:51 pm »

http://www.prosper.com/lend/listing.aspx?listingID=293790
A "B" with $40,000 of revolving debt (good payment history though) wants $3,000+ to reinvest in Prosper. His listing is currently at 14.2%. And he's doing so well so far - Lendingstats has him at -13.2% ROI. http://www.lendingstats.com/lenders/rome1426
Sounds like he's got a plan.   :ninja:

From the listing: "As I did with a previous prosper loan for this same purpose, I expect to make payments at 2 - 3 times the minimum required, thereby paying off this loan in 12-18 months"
Perhaps the borrower doesn't realize that we can see previous listings / loans ?

I thought the same thing - wanted to see if anyone else brought it up. I think I'll ask a question

Bingo.

Perhaps the previous loan was in a spouse's name.  Or the borrower has multiple personalities, each with its own SSN.

Or the loan exists in a parallel universe where a negative ROI is good  :P

Nope - Here's the answer

Q:     Are you aware that lenders can see prior loans and history of payments in listings? Why is there no prior loan shown for you despite your statement "As I did with a previous prosper loan for this same purpose..."
A:    The statement was mean to say for all previous loans I have received..I apologize for any misunderstanding.
