RL, I honestly hope you know what you are getting yourself into. It's stated that you are aiming to maintain a "constructive and productive" tone, but what if constructive and productive requires a certain element of negativity? The truth is always constructive and productive...therefore, I hope you are committed to truth and transparity.

I encourage anyone to read the entire post: http://www.rateladder.com/2007/12/19/rateladder-is-new-prosper-blog-editor-in-chief/

I started yesterday.

I have nothing to do with the forums.

My objectiveness comment was only about posts at my blog where I retain complete editorial control.

The Prosper Blog is part of the Prosper brand.  My websites are not.

There will be a post tomorrow at the Prosper Blog making the announcement from Prosper.  This post today by me at rateladder was to make sure that now that I was acting in that capacity I was disclosing that fact.

My reason for posting on this thread at all was to correct an inaccuracy concerning LazyMan's post.

what will be your moderation philosophy as it applies to reader comments?

http://blog.prosper.com/comments/

I let brownmoose through, you will have to decide that for yourself.

I have a personality not a philosphy.  Some would even say I am a character.

Prosper deletes everything I write regardless of content so Im not going to waste any more time deciding the matter unless. I just wanted to see if anything has changed in your opinion.

The link is nice, but it doesnt help me.

Feel free to tell the world your comment here.  I believe my comment is irrefutable given the caveats I placed.

Also to quote LoanChimp.  The median seasoned lender is beating the Zopa CD: http://www.prospers.org/forum/index.php?topic=4669.msg66439#msg66439
By 0.06% -- and does the Zopa CD charge a servicing fee?  If not, assuming an aaverage Prosper servicing fee of 0.8%, the Zopa CD beats the median seasoned Prosper lender by 0.74%.

I don't know how you expect me to answer that question...  I personally haven't deleted any of your comments and there is not a blacklist at this time.

please see the comments approved on or after 12/18 for examples of what I have approved.

Would you be willing to accept any of Trav's various postings on the blog?

Rateladder:

what's the process of getting a prospers.org blog such as fred's featured on prosper.com's blog?

+1.

And I had spent all this time wondering what the big announcement was.

RL, I hope that at least the blogs are fairly moderated.  I also hope that if you are ever pressured to create a blacklist, or to edit or delete comments that you let us know.

I have been looking over the blog and I think it is pretty good...   I don't expect to see negative spins about Prosper, but realistic answers to realistic questions is a good start to what is needed.   I congratulate you on starting something that looks like it will be a good place for new lenders to get some info.

I am optimistic that this is a good move by Prosper to get someone moderating that is willing to take a little "heat" from time to time.   And I think it is well proven that RL can take some heat...

Just dealing with Bama would make me feel like I was in Hell... lol

** I saw a post that directly mentions Prospers.org**  Glad it made it through...

Does this mean that John Witchels’ blog (the one that is on prospers.org)
will finally get revived, too?

I want to say for the record that RL quoted me (sorta) in his opening blog this morning.

the post he's referring to

I am known as "Informed Reader", but that is ok. I understand the sight of my screenname may cause involuntary physical reactions among Prosper staff, so we'll work on removing my anonymity slowly.

In any event, the gesture is noted and appreciated.
