Quick update.  The oldest of the Riverside suits, Prosper v. Cline, appears not to have been served yet!
Complaint filed 2/25 and no return of service yet.  Other three Riverside cases are too recent for the lack of proof of service to be an issue.

The oldest case in Orange County, Prosper v. Rozier, filed 2/26, is in the same posture; no return of service or appearance by defendant yet.  Other 5 cases pending in OC are too recent for the lack of proof of service to be an issue.

Not much of a test if the complaints aren't served!

I'm no genius (yeah, like I felt the need to tell everyone ;) ) but skip tracing would have provided them with valid addresses, no? Perhaps they could hire Gulp ;)

I don't know if there's an address failure or just a service failure.  Hard to say if there's been no effort to serve.

In California, you can serve by publication if you can't find the defendant, but there's been no motion seeking leave to file by publication, either!  As far as I can tell, Prosper's lawyers have done NOTHING with the lawsuits other than filing them.
