She also said the federal Communications Decency Act protects sites that allow users to post unedited messages and communicate freely in forums.

A portion of the eventual downfall of Prosper.com's old forum stem from Prosper editing posts. Guess they could not have kept it going as a lawsuit magnet as it were.

Does this Craigslist ruling also mean that Prospers.org loses certain protections once the editing, splitting, and moving of topics/messages start?

I don't think the quote suggests that moving a message or editing a message negates the FCDA's protection for the site.  I think it just affirms that if someone posts something objectionable, and it isn't edited, the site isn't responsible.
