Let them reposeess the car. You obviously can't afford to keep it, and living beyond your means is just as bad as whatever your husband did to (ahem) your credit.
Carpool, or use public transportation. Try to put aside $100 a month, and buy a used '93 Corolla for $1400 or so.
If you can't put aside $100 a month, then you certainly shouldn't be taking out a loan.
Follow this plan, and you will begin to dig yourself out of the hole, and you will set a good example for your children.
