I know we sometimes joke about this, but I really want to keep new people in the dark long enough that I can get my money out.

Lenders haven't been good at pricing risk. If risk was priced appropriately, lower grades would provide a better net return than higher grades. Higher risk should correlate with higher returns. Therefore, the return on Ds should be higher than the return on Cs

However, the return on As should reasonably be higher than the return on AAs, the return on Bs higher than the return on As, the return on Cs higher than the return on Bs, and so on.

Don't forget that the 66 NAT loans (which should be counted as Late-4's, if not defaults), are being treated by Prosper as if they had never originated.  So the real numbers are even worse.

Yes,most of those were AA & A if i remember correctly..This would put those 2 grades down like the rest.

Oh Bama.  Stop being such a spoil-sport.  You know things are better now.  Things were different back then.  We didn't have as much data.  Besides, all of us with experience know how to pick the good ones from the bad.

It's different now....

That's what I'm trying to say....
