Maybe they're trying the pulls just as the govt stimulus hits their accounts.

Sounds plausible to me.

Yes, and Prosper has enough information to make an intelligent guess on when that is, better than guessing payday, since the IRS had published a schedule based on SSN and Prosper has SSNs--two guesses: the date for direct deposit, and the date for a paper check. That's better odds than guessing when payday is for those that Prosper had not requested a paystub.

Only now the news is that the stimulus is going out early, but the IRS hasn't published a revised schedule.

Out of my 7 lates, I have double daggers on one that's 10 days late.  Bet it does nothing.

We have enough information on this borrower that I'm tempted to call her and ask what's up with her loan!

I have 2 4-month lates and 2 3-month lates, and none are showing daggers.  :(  I do seem to recall from the last time Prosper tried the payday pulls, though, that most of the payments wound up failing.

I haven't been keeping track of the daggers but my general feeling is that since AmSher took over that the number of daggers is about half of what the oft-villified Penncro used to do.

Funny how people universally assume that AmSher is doing some wise strategic timing of pulls (around payday, when the stimulus checks hit, etc.).  Hope springs eternal.

How about pulling for 1/7 of the amount every day for a week if the first pull fails?

Well, today's payday for those who get paid on the last of the month.

No new daggers.

Some time ago Mark posted a link to the ACH rules that seem to say that a bounced payment can only be put through twice more.

Here's a YouTube video where someone gets the same ACH pull attempt several times a day from some payday loan place.

Actually, if you look at the video, he has at least 6 different payday loan companies trying to pull from his account.  Who knows, he could have more than that.

I'm seeing a dagger combo on my 1 month late.
They did a pay cycle pull on this same loan on 11/30/07.
There've been 3 payments since then - which was keeping the loan current.
But the last payment was 2/12/08.

Today's pull is only a standard payment, however.
So it won't bring the loan current like the 11/30/07 pull did.

Crap - this pull failed.
