Seems to me like I've heard that somewhere before.  If I could just remember where...

IMO, as they sit there and look even more desperate, those 8 who have already made offers won't think twice before lowering the next offer - especially since supposedly it's been almost a month since they made those offers. I honestly can't see why DoFu thinks that he's going to get better offers while the loans fester since as you stated, the credit crunch is getting worse, not better.

Ira (or anybody else,) please comment on Chick's thought here.  I think this is the meat and potatoes of this latest missed date.

I suspect that part of the problem is that Prosper paper doesn't include attorneys' fees.

Prosper missed me.  They lifted my suspension a day early.

I don't know -- I think that might cut both ways.  If Prosper accepts a low-ball offer this time, the JDB's sure won't bid any more next time.  Without knowing just how much the bids were for, it is hard to say whether Prosper is being stupid or not.  If the bids were a bit lower than December's sale, then of course Prosper should have accepted.  If the bids are little more than nothing, then I am not so sure.  If nothing else, perhaps Prosper should rummage through the Late-4's in search of another 50-100 worth suing on.

I will be more than happy to offer to buy all the 120+ debts in GA for 1 penny per dollar over the highest JDB offer.

Someone needs to start Fester.Com, an innovative junk debt site where lenders can bid on pieces of stale late loans as they decline to zero.
