lazyman, what makes your endorsement so valuable? what exactly are you going to say about a borrower other than I was paid 50 bucks?

I doubt he was gonna be honest.

I've talked with Buquo quite a few times via his website (see his write-up). He's put hours and hours into that website... more than you can imagine (I know with the work my website entails). He's not going to risk his reputation and that income stream for the small amount of money he's asking for. As soon as I have money(From Him?) in my account, I will back it up with my own dollars. -TechnologyGuy, Jun-18-2008

Prosper sorta reminds me of a bank stock.  I mean, how low can it go before it gets put out of it's misery?

What's the lie?

How is it against the law?  (I give you it may be against Prosper's Terms of Service, but I can debate this one as well.)

Cheating by showing an opposing view?  Most of this thread is name calling, not an opposing view.  I'd be cheating them out of valuable minutes of their lives by subjecting them to it.  The only opposing view that I saw was the link that you posted.  It was relevant on topic, so it stayed.  Stuff about me deleting Tokyo Joe's website, that's not on the topic.  He also said it wasn't really his website in this forum anyway.

I've been around for the last 2+ years.  Do you think my grand plan is to write two years of posts on this (and my health website) so that I can run away with $25?  Seriously?!?!

You may be breaking the law by offering loan products without a license.Illegally charging interest.Charging excessive interest.

He's a fellow personal finance blogger that I've talked to on numerous occasions.

Are you kidding?  There's nothing to debate.

Are you & Rateladder twins?

Is being on a website without ads driving you insane?

ever pay someone to give you a letter of recommendation for a new job? how do you think a new employer would react if they knew?

how do you think lenders bidding on paid-endorsement listings would react if they knew?

It sure looks like it.   Do you really not see just how sleazy your offer appears?

Go back and read the post.  Prosper is saying that endorsements are valuable.  They make no claim about the source mattering.  That's what has me think it's a flawed system.  All endorsements are equal, even one that could have been bought and paid for.

Though if you go back and read the first comment, the Credit Karma CEO found that there's some potential value in even a bought endorsement.

As for what I'd say, I'd actually talk to the person and vet their credentials.  I'm not saying that it's a guarantee that they pay everything back, but what endorsement is?

Is there a way to see all the endorsements made by a Prosper member?
