At the least, your secret decoder ring should be revoked.

As far as banning from PMI.I vote yes because they have banned for far less.

I think blog removal is a given.

But knowing Prosper, you will probably get hired as a full time employee.

"we talk" lol

BTW, does anyone expect this guy to be around in 3 years to pay back the endorsement?

I've been around for the last 2+ years.  Do you think my grand plan is to write two years of posts on this (and my health website) so that I can run away with $25?  Seriously?!?!
your goal is to make $25 total with this enterprise?

Understanding sarcasm... doesn't seem to be your strong suit.
my applogies then ..

so you plan to run away after you gather a large amount then?

call me stupid, but if I was a borrower why should I give you $75 when I can do the same thing myself with someone I know?

Tempting, but I won't call you stupid.  I answered this in the post itself.  If endorsements get better rates then you'd want to get one.  If you can't convince to sign up, put money on the platform, and endorse you, buying an endorsement (from anyone) is easier.

The 50% surcharge is on top of the interest he would receive on the loan from the borrowers own money."If" they were to pay back.& assuming he would give any of it back in 3 years.

The LRA is plain as day on this topic.  What you are doing violates your lender agreement with Prosper.

"Doing" implies that I'm actually in the process of it.  Last I checked, I'm pretty sure I can write about it about it all I want.

No, seriously, you're really not defending your post, are you?

It obviously was a well-meaning mistake.  But even you have to admit, it was a mistake...

...right?

It wasn't a mistake.  I want to bring the issue to Prosper.  Even you guys can't deny that it's going to get their attention.  If it changes the system and makes it better, I accomplished exactly what I set out to do.

Yes it was my intention for it to be as sleazy as possible to get Prosper's attention.

You must think we are idiots.

you wanted free money.

Obviously not or else, I wouldn't have gone through the trouble to put the innovation in there.

the borrower gets the money from a payday loan store (credit card, or other source) and gives it to a relative/friend/spouse to endorse them with. if borrower knows PII of relative/friend/spouse, then they can just sign them up without the person knowing.

that probably happens already more than you think.

Lazyman, have you had anyone take you up on your offer?  Have you sold your endorsement to anyone yet?

Well, okay, if that's your answer.  You affirm the post isn't a mistake, and you stand by it...  Okay.  :)

The post may result in some changes...  There's even a side bet going on about that right now...  ;)

So...  Let's talk about "appearance of impropriety"

You make an offer of endorsements for cash, and you have in fact endorsed someone, someone you sound like you don't know very well...

Doesn't that blur the lines between simply writing a "satirical" post about selling endorsements, and actually doing it?

I didn't say you are doing it...  But you see how the lines get blurred here, giving the appearance of impropriety...?

You gotta be careful with stuff like that; it can get you fired from a financial institution quickly...  And even blacklisted from them all...

You might want to add "the previous post is satire" at the end, to unblur the lines a little...

Because if Prosper doesn't get the joke -and they can be very thick sometimes, just between you and me- you might get a phone call...

ever pay someone to give you a letter of recommendation for a new job? how do you think a new employer would react if they knew?

how do you think lenders bidding on paid-endorsement listings would react if they knew?

Thank you!  Perhaps you are finally getting it.  I'm trying to stop this from happening and the only way to do so, is to bring it to the forefront.  That was my point at the end when I said, "Innovation occurs when a potential problem is exposed."

Well why didn't you say so in the first place...?

Because it sure looks like you're making an offer...

Then why did you argue when we pointed out it was against TOS?  That's what I'm not getting.  Either you think it's wrong or it isn't.  TOS covers it already.

I did say in the first place.  See where it says "Innovation occurs when a potential problem is exposed."  That was it.

It's great that the TOS covers it, but it doesn't stop someone from doing it outside of Prosper's system if they are clever enough to not get caught.

Quick scenario.  I want to take out a loan.  I think an endorsement would help.  I call up my friend Chuck, tell him to meet me for beers.  I tell him that I'm taking out a loan, and I'd appreciate his good word on my behalf.  He says, he'd love to, but doesn't have the $50 right now.  I give him $50 and pick up the check for the beers.  Chuck signs up and then lends me the $50 that I gave him.  Did Chuck break the TOS?  Did he accept a kickback of beers?
