My Prosper annuity water drip torture experience
« on: April 08, 2008, 07:50:55 pm »

Well I'm about a year and a half into my Prosper experience. Since the death of the free  .com board I rarely frequent the site. On occasion I'll check my account and transfer whatever is available out.

Out of all my loans roughly 1/3 are paid, 1/3 late and a little over 1/3 are current.

Because my portfolio is small and my bids were mostly $50 the experience is similar to financial water torture; A slow drip of payments that are not large enough to get excited over but enough to cover an occasional pizza and an open balance just large enough not to forget about. (At least last I checked I could get a pizza for $25 dollars.)

Oh borrowers set me free! Give me repay or give me default!

The cowdog wondered where you ran off to.

I'm in the same boat... amazingly with a positive ROI.

41% paid, 20% late, 39% current.
Withdrew another $27 yesterday.

Hey Cowdog,

The last time I bothered to check my ROI was around 1% or less. Looks like Bella35 may be having trouble so that would probably take me into negative territory.

With such a small investment I'm past caring about the ROI.

Well that is the trick... at least we didnt pour thousands and thousands into Prosper.

At this point, with a loan value under $100 and probably a total of $100 lost altogether, it certainly has been worth every penny in experience... not to mention I'm actually a couple grand ahead due to sound financial advice (plus a couple stock tips) from this community.

Funny thing was on a political forum and Hillary's campaign was compared to water drip torture also. :)
