Impressive new Prosper Blogger
« on: May 01, 2009, 11:01:22 am »

Member Mieca12 is on the Prosper blog today, extolling the virtues of Prosper and saddened that she's unable to lend from the great state of Washington.

Well,...

According to LendingStats, Mieca12 (http://www.ericscc.com/lenders/Mieca12) has made 10 loans with avg credit grade of A+.

Eric estimates her at a loss of of 9.19%.

Of here 10 loans, 4 are still running, 3 have paid off and 3 have defaulted, leaving her with a tentative default percentage of 33%.

Perhaps she should be thanking her State of Washington...

Nice job, Prosper, on finding this gem of an opinion-leader.

So your removal of cash is unrelated to the fact that 33% of your loans have defaulted?

That blog was probably one of the dumbest ideas Prosper has had (that didn't affect our money).

I disagree.  Prosper's frequent (and inane) blog posts has pushed many negative sites off the first page of search results.  No doubt, this was the prime purpose of the blog.

Lobby worthy

+1.  If Prosper is going to post fluff comments on its blog, then the public should see the real story of the commentor.

Sure Prosper can open up to the state of Washington & all 50 states.  All they have to do is get approved by the SEC.  What's wrong Prosper?  Why can't you get approved by the SEC?  Does the SEC regulation hamper your marketing efforts?  Lending Club was able to do it.

Generating an electronic prospectus doesn't seem to be all that burdensome for Lending Club.  Heck, it's just another report.  That's Prosper's biggest open complaint about the process.

(Personally, I suspect it has a lot more to do with how they market their securities & assess risk that bothers the regulators.)

I don't want to be the person to move my own thread to the lobby, but I have no objection if someone else wants to move it.
