I ran a few tests and I cannot even connect to Prosper's phone trunk in San Francisco.


Prosper did not pay the phone company.  Their trunk lines have been shut off.

When cow had me call all of Prosper's (415) numbers, I got an error at my local telco (ATT).

That's an indication that the call did not even get routed to the CO handling Prosper's CO... which could only happen if the telco at the other end fucked up a MAC, the trunks were pulled or disconnected for billing.


Otherwise if it was truly a problem by Prosper's PBX system, you'd get a fast busy, or an error message coming from Prosper's PBX or the CO in San Francisco.    I'm getting an error from both ATT and Verizon Pennsylvania,

Still down after 10 hours.  I can't imagine any mechanical or logistical scenario where this would occur.  The phones are the one bit that you never let die.

Yes.  And the people responsible for the phone system would be busy getting the system back up.

I just tried Ed Giedgowd's line and it was down, as well.  I got the message recited earlier to the effect that the phone line isn't working because of circumstances beyond our control.

"Please try back another time?"  Yeah, like in 3 years.

Anyone email Prosper to see if their email is down too?   :ninja:

There are no listings dated Sep 3 at the moment.  Apparently, Prosper didn't add their daily plethora of listings last evening while this phone issue was going on.
