Prosper forums?
« on: November 30, 2009, 01:01:43 pm »

THought for old times' sake I'd go peek in on the Prosper forums. (I was there to kick-start my stalled money transfers, anyway.) I could not find a link to any forum whatsoever, neither lenders not borrowers.  Did Prosper remove their forums or am I just so out of the loop that I can't find my own elbow?

I don't see it either.

Funny though, when I clicked on Groups the "Featured Borrower Groups" included 2 that were no longer taking members including MsAva's

At least the Prosper programmers have a great sense of humor.

Damn, that IS hidden! No posts since 11/17 - they did a good job of making it disappear while still being there ;)

They successfully gutted it, and with good reason.  They wiped most all of the posts from the prior lenders & have set moderation on high so that new posts take forever to get on there.

Even after Prosper's last stand of high moderation & wiping .Orger's, that population of lenders still became... how should I say... self aware of how crappy Prosper's performance was.

No matter how many times Prosper wipes the forums & not matter how much they try to cleanse the system, when you put lenders together, they will eventually figure out how poor Prosper performs.  The end result is always a bad PR nightmare for Propser.  The only thing worth having on there is a forum for developers.

Perhaps we should start a Prosper Non-fan page to counter the hype.

Forums are sooo 2006.    ;) ;D

ETA: Seriously, maybe just start a P2P page instead of a non-fan page.

If that one idiot can launch a plagiarist blog and name it "American Banking News," we can certainly launch a Facebook page with an equally pretencious name.

Somebody probably mentioned this in a newer thread somewhere that I haven't seen yet, but this link is gone now.
And I can't connect to https://connect.prosper.com/

On the plus side, the disappearance of the (second) official Prosper forum puts ORG at the top of any search for "prosper forum".
