To new visitors here. A lot of us lent money on prosper.com when it was new. The company lied to us on numerous occasions.They claimed to vet borrowers,then actually claimed that they didn't vet borrowers & weren't responsible for defaults. After many years a class action attorney finally took the case on the fact that they were selling us unlicensed securities. We won millions & are still waiting on the payouts.

Here at this site is the foremost collection of prosper experts anywhere. We have first hand knowledge of many many shady dealing this company has been involved in. Numerous documented lies,document scrubs,outright borrower fraud handed to them on a platter that they ignored,ID theft proof. All ignored & resulted in some of us even banned.

Was there any indication Prosper should have picked up on at the time of funding? Anything vetting would have uncovered?

Did they also hold credit cards, and should we put any blame on the banks that issued them?

Yes, that's my point.
If there was something that could have been uncovered with appropriate vetting, then Prosper would take some of the blame, since they likely didn't (based on what we know of their past).
But if there was nothing to uncover, then Prosper doesn't take any of the fault.
