Maybe Prosper will finally be shut down, or at least be faced with rather tight regulation.

Why?  There was no way that Prosper could have known what this guy would do, unless his loan write-up was entitled "Need to borrow $28K to fund terror."  They don't even allow borrowers to write a narrative anymore, right?  So how is this any different than the credit cards that Syed probably also had?

If people at work did not know what this guy wanted to do, how can we expect Prosper to know?

Was there any indication Prosper should have picked up on at the time of funding? Anything vetting would have uncovered?

Did they also hold credit cards, and should we put any blame on the banks that issued them?

I haven't looked at listings for years or what they show....but, would anything indicate that they were moslems?  Big RED Flag
In the old days we could see their pics and communicate with them.  Lord Savage and I would smell them out.

Once I heard about $28k deposit from web bank, I came straight here. :)

Nobody wants the other thread in the lobby?

I do... I just looked there before I logged in to check if there had been discussion here anywhere.

I haven't checked Prosper in ages.  I didn't know they had raised their loan limit.

I haven't been on there in years, either. Is there a way to browse through previously filled loans? I can't seem to find one...but that may be because my current state doesn't allow lenders accounts. I'd be very curious to see the listing.

You can look at the listings.  I looked through November 18.  Found one for 30k

But just because he got the money on Nov. 18, doesn't mean the loan was listed on Nov. 18? Or have they changed how they operate?

I thought real Muslims didn't take loans that have interest on them.

It's not a loan if you aren't going to pay it back.

Loaning, lying, murder, etc. all OK...

So all those people who ran in the primary, dropped out, and endorsed the eventual winner who wind up in every cabinet is just a coincidence?
Yes.  They drop out because they realize they cannot win and staying in will hurt their future prospects.  If they later wind up with a job, that's fine.  But that's not remotely the same as a quid pro quo.
