Are prosper lenders really helping borrowers?
« on: May 12, 2008, 08:30:53 pm »

Do the ones that actually benefit & repay total more than the number of borrowers  who were pushed over the edge by a new bill?

I'm just brainstorming here but i think we hurt a lot of borrowers by putting them further into a hole, financing an addiction type lifestyle, fostering a drug habit, causing divorces by spouses getting loans in secret etc.

Any thoughts?

I think we were mostly enablers.  Prosper seems to attract the kind of people who should not borrow money because they can't manage life.

Losers mostly.  Unfortunate, but mostly losers, living on the edge and hoping for that one break that will probably never come.

It was listings such as this one that made me join up as a lender.

I sincerely think I helped the borrower out.
