Blogger brags about 15% ROI

My 15% Return on Prosper.com Confirmed Via LendingStats

http://everydayfinance.blogspot.com/2007/09/my-15-return-on-prospercom-confirmed.html

Quote
I was able to enter my username and get a full rundown of my performance, my 74 loans, no lates/defaults, etc. as well as the average interest rate of 15.11% (thankfully, the data on the site is accurate and matches the results I've been touting!). The estimated ROI takes into account project defaults, so at 14% net of defaults, I'd take that non-correlated result any day.

Fast forward 10 months.

And of course this one was expecting 11% (see third-to-the-last comment).

Well,at least they have been smart enough to quit or scale way back.

They never post that to their readers though. That isn't right.

I nominate this thread for the lobby.

Bama's post gives a good example of why you shouldnt jump in too fast or believe what your ROI says for the 1st year or so.

mjerry, are you there?

I'm ok with moving it to the lobby.

I invited the OP of the blog here.

Yes, this is a lobby thread.

I can't count the bloggers I've seen in the last 2 years who jumped all over Prosper, convinced they would make incredible returns, but then never addressed their subsequent losses in their blogs.

I think that says more about the average intelligence of bloggers than prosper.

And of course this one was expecting 11% (see third-to-the-last comment).

Fast-forward about 6-1/2 months, and: http://www.lendingstats.com/lenders/WealthBoy

And his average loan age is still only 160 days, and all of his lates are still in the early to middle stages (late to 3-months late) -- His ROI will be in the toilet in another 3 months when all his current lates are 4+ and he has a few new ones in addition.

Yes, exactly.  I'll probably contact him at his 1-year mark and see if he wants to amend the information he imparted to the Prosper community.

Aw c'mon now - how 'bout mentioning just a few of them?   :) :)

He still has 2% return, which isn't great, but he isn't in the red... yet.

After more than a year, I'm pleased I'm beating inflation.  (Not counting gas and food, just like Congress does it!)

For how long, I dunno. ;)

I'm not going to talk about my return, because the moment I do... I'm jinxed.

Well my take is he is going to lose $20,000. He's heavy on C's and HR's. So sorry to see this.
