I don't want lobby.  Why give borrowers these tips.

Agreed!

Nominate to delobby.

TJ voting to take good news out of the lobby?  That's a surprise!

As promised, I have tried dividing Prosper's Pre-2008 loans into two randomly-chosen halves and run the analysis on them. My findings for words that perform poorly are pretty similar to my original findings. Words that perform well aren't as clear cut. Because of that, I'm not going to post the well-performing words here. For the curious, feel free to take a look at the post on my blog here: http://lendingtuber.blogspot.com/2011/09/bad-and-good-words-revisited.html.

I will, however, post the words that performed poorly (taken from the same post):

Percent Paid (By Loan): Is the percent of loans, containing the indicated word at least once, which finished with a status Paid.
Percent Paid (By Word): Is the percent of time that a loan ended with the status paid, weighted by the frequency of the word in the listing. (For example, a loan with a title "Help, help, help, help!" which did not pay would count four times more than a loan with "Help" listed only once.)
Word Count: The number of listings containing the word at least once. (Notably not the total number of times the word was used--the maximum here is once per listing.)

Group 1 Worst Performing Words
WordPercent Paid (By Loan)Percent Paid (By Word)Word Count
(average Paid)61.1%
payday38.9%38.6%596
behind42.9%43.6%592
mother43.5%44.8%566
chance44.5%42.1%631
track46.8%45.6%581
son47.1%44.8%597
daughter48.1%46.3%516
child48.7%47.9%520
husband49%51.3%896
single49.5%49.7%707

Group 2 Worst Performing Words
WordPercent Paid (By Loan)Percent Paid (By Word)Word Count
(average Paid)59.6%
payday37.5%39.2%595
behind42.4%41.3%566
chance43.5%41.5%575
son45.7%44.2%514
mother46.6%46.7%601
children47%45.6%854

DELETED47.7%46.6%507
child47.8%46.3%552
3000048.3%47.6%532

We see  the word 'payday' at the bottom, with the words 'behind', 'chance' and then family words like 'mother', 'child', etc. to be on the bottom for both groups -- very similar to my original findings.

This info should have been kept in the 'verified lenders' forum.

The thread was in "Lenders - General" (see "MOVED: "need"ing loans), which is open to all borrowers who have joined prospers.org.

If it were in "Verified Lenders", it wouldn't have been moved, no matter what the vote.

Would you lenders (in addition to TJGbank) like this thread moved into "Verified Lenders"?

WGAF?  Very, very few (if any) borrowers are going to find .org before posting a listing.

If I may point out: I'm not a verified lender. Unless someone else picks up the reins, no new data would be posted to this thread.

My general feeling, though, is that since the data is publicly available for anyone who takes the time to analyze it there's not much point in keeping the numbers hidden. As ira01 points out, most borrowers won't see these numbers before posting, anyway.

Maybe the LOBBY should just be frozen.

That would certainly be an exception.

JGuide,
Have you been in contact with this dead-beat member of your group?
https://www.prosper.com/invest/listing.aspx?listingID=462230

Over 90 days late.

I excepted more.

He is not a member of our group, and it was not a group listing...
However, I have been in contact with him.  He says he is currently unemployed isn't able to pay...

Not sure what more you expect from the group listings.  I am pretty pleased with our current situation:

Current group loan stats: $395,017 loaned to group members, 17% average Interest rate.
87 Loans Total
47 Current
40 39 Paid off
1 charged off (BK).

The charge off:  She had ~ $850 remaining in the listing when she defaulted.  I am still hopeful she will at some point re-assume the loan and finish paying it off.

edit to fix math...
