Do you mean this "pay by touch"?
http://www.paybytouch.com

Maybe it's because the company might be eyeing Chapter 11.  http://valleywag.com/tech/deathwatch/pay-by-touch-to-close-up-shop-320844.php

It appears she had joined up with pay by touch back around 1/30/07:

About the only thing this suggests to me so far is to pay attention to when she jumps ship.  She may be smart enough to get out when the gettn's good.

"Ms. Muriel brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic,
analytic and retail consumer marketing, as well as an expertise in customer
acquisition, to Pay By Touch. She joins the biometric industry leader from
E-LOAN, a consumer direct lender providing mortgage, home equity and auto
loans, where she was CMO and helped build the company into a leading brand."

Who founded E-Loan again?

Crony-ism?

People hiring people whom they know and have worked with before?  I'm calling the cops.

I think it's related to the fact that she stayed at the previous job for a very short period of time (just a matter of weeks) - and that is perhaps not the ideal think to promote on her resume - especially if Prosper snagged her away from her new job - and she, in the process, left Pay By Touch hanging by dining and dashing.

Quote
The company's 600 employees have been paid intermittently for months, according to a court-appointed custodian who was put in charge of Pay by Touch in November. Four employees filed papers to push Pay by Touch into insolvency.

Quote
Two lawsuits by former employees depict chief executive John Patrick Rogers, 41, as a foulmouthed bully and cocaine user who ogled female underlings and disappeared for days at a time.

One of the lawsuits filed against the company and Rogers contends that the CEO's history of conflicts with women and a misdemeanor should have served as red flags. Bernadette Robertson, former vice president of human resources, said in a separate lawsuit filed against the company and Rogers in June that her firing was retaliation for investigating sexual-harassment complaints against the CEO. She was replaced, the lawsuit said, by Rogers' mother.

In an interview last week, Rogers denied the major allegations in the lawsuits and called the claims "character assassination." He vowed to fight for control of the company, possibly by bringing in new investors. One Pay by Touch investor has filed a third lawsuit, which seeks to wrest control of the company from Rogers.

It does if you're the one being touched.  8)

Classic comment from Urbi to a poster who said they were leaving:

"Once again, we note that your threats are hollow and you come across like a sad, lonely blowhard.

I doubt anyone here gives a shit about you.  We pretty much all know that you are a vile and unethical parasite of a human being with an abnormal craving for attention."

I'm pleasantly surprised....

The moderator of the Prosper blog comments didn't have heartburn over...

On a separate note, I think there’s a gap in Mrs. Muriel’s bio ( http://www.prosper.com/about/management/catherine_muriel.aspx ). She had another job after E-LOAN but before Prosper. http://promomagazine.com/news/pay_by_touch_murial_cmo_013107/

But I'd be even more pleasantly surprised if anything became of this...
