They've stomped out any voice of dissent, the voice that could've most helped them.  It isn't your fans and yes men that help you grow.  It's the ones that point out flaws and are honest.

True. They suppressed correction when offered in love. They suppressed correction when rubbed in their nose. So correction now comes from places they can't control.

I wonder why they didn't get zapp ohfive deleted?

:o

So far, I've only made one comment.  It was on the anti-Prosper group's wall.  It was only mildly "Prosper Sucks."

Also, I am a borrower; maybe they don't want to annoy me too much?

Probably just no one bothered to get me canned... yet.

Yeah, I imagine Prosper is just cracking down on the people leaving comments on their FB page (because heaven forbid that a little truth makes it onto that page).

To add to the weirdness that is Prosper, I'm back as a fan on their FB page today.

Yeah, I don't get it either.  ???

Wonder how long Prosper will allow this comment to sit:

Really? They don't want to be in biz?  I never thought about it that way.

Almost 2 months without an update from Prosper.  Tapping into the viral powers of social networking to grow the platform, indeed.

The funny thing is the original lenders really were a social network.  An unusually good one, for awhile.  Prosper didn't have to lift a finger.  Had it not been for the 3-30-07 incident, and had Prosper taken their community's input seriously, there could have been an entirely different story to Prosper.  I bet there'd be a lot more originations, and even a lower default rate if the forum lenders had been permitted to continue as they had been.  Sure, it got messy, but for awhile the teamwork and sense of being part of something with a lot of potential was pretty heady, and most companies wish they'd get that kind of interest.

Something like 90% of all Facebooks stop updating after a couple of months.  Not surprised Prosper got bored with it.  No community.

J*** U******* Is there a forum somewhere for borrowers and lenders to discuss individual listings like there used to be pre-quiet period?

Quote
Prosper Loans Marketplace John - The best way to discuss individual listings is on the listing itself. Lenders can easily pose questions to individual borrowers, and borrowers can respond. Of course this Facebook Fan page is also a good place to connect with other lenders and borrowers and discuss generalities.

Never mind that a good chunk of Prosper's own staff hangs at the world's number 1 top destination for discussing all things Prosper.com....here at prospers.org.
